So my beautiful girl and I spent our Thursday night at SXSW show hopping, catching various sets up and down 6th Street. One fun venue was Maggie Mae's - which was hosting the Canadian Blast showcase. 2 stages featuring diverse sets from lots of fantastic bands from across the border. We wandered in during Call Me Poupée, and also managed to catch Karkwa. We really, really regret not getting to tape either of those bands. The good news? We got to see and tape Creature.

Agreed. What this fails to tell you is that they brought some serious ass-shaking to Maggie Mae's rooftop - channeling the best of Prince, and fusing it with some B-52 sensibilities, the Creature kids know how to have a good time.
